Concerned for her son's future in the USSR of the '80s, a Russian mother becomes a mail-order bride and moves to the United States. Though she hopes to give her son a better life, things veer off course when his burgeoning sexuality and love of the New Queer Cinema movement clash with his new father's point of view. This star-studded, deliciously campy coming-of-age comedy is a true crowd-pleaser.
