When sixth-grader Qiu starts getting bullied in school for having two gay dads, he takes action to prove to the world that, unlike his parents, he is straight and manly. Meanwhile, his stepfather, a flamboyant trumpet player, must confront his own nightmares of childhood bullying before he can provide his son with a feeling of security.
